Marcus Sedgewick

We did think about a couple of Marcus Sedgewick books for the Power of Reading Years 5/6 list - he's an author that people seem to be talking about quite a lot. One was called Floodlands - which seemed topical in the summer and another set in the South West about a wind farm. Both had strong themes and could be linked to very interesting cross curricular work on the environment - but we didn't really warm to the characters. We felt they weren't strong enough. I'll definitely read My Sword Hand is Singing - it sounds excellent.

Putting work and photos in the gallery

At the moment you can't put up work and pictures in the gallery yourself - you have to send them to me at olivia.laptop@clpe.co.uk - and then I put them up.

We hope to create the facility for schools to upload their work - but probably not until next year.
Please send photos of work and activities to me and I'll put them up as soon as I can.
